Many industrial process equipment (IPE) manufacturers are moving beyond 2D to embrace 3D design, in order to boost efficiency, and enable cross-functional collaboration. These internal gains are already opening new doors in product development and delivery.
However, in a sector where complexity is rising and market conditions remain unpredictable, competitive advantages hinge on how well these gains translate into customer value, not only through better execution to optimize what exists, but also by pushing the boundaries of innovation to focus on what’s next. Seventy nine percent of digitally mature companies in the process manufacturing industry say they are considering entering new markets, compared with 55% of less digitally mature companies.
